As a starting point FGFC is using the development model promulgated by the Food Co-op Initiative, the primary support organization for "mainstream" food co-ops. Their Four Cornerstones/Three Stages model provides a comprehensive approach to cooperative development, and we see no reason to reinvent the wheel.
